Last week when Heather was 21 weeks pregnant, we were able to have an ultra-sound to determine the sex of our first child.  We were one of the first appointments of the day.  As we entered the little ultra sound room, we were both very ready to know more about are new child.  How is the health, but also the gender?  As the technician started with the ultrasound, she began to tell us what she would be looking for during our visit.  As she went on and on about the organs and the bones she was looking for, I cut in and asked, how about the sex.   Impatiently I asked, will we find out about whether our baby is a boy or girl.  Without skipping a beat, she quietly says very nonchalantly, oh, it is a girl.  Expecting to be able to brace for the news, I was suddenly overwhelmed with the reality that I was going to be the father of a baby girl.  I obviously asked the lady, are you sure?  Again without a skip in beat, she says, oh yes, this is most certainly a girl.  I stopped short of asking her what percentage she believed this to be true.  

Heather and I are very excited.  We are having a baby girl.  Baby Bella, as we call her, is on her way.  Bella Jacqueline Bruce will be her name.  You can the first images of her via ultrasound at my website, www.bryanbruce.net.  Go take a look!
