Steelers Mania!

Great email from a very good family friend in Pittsburgh, Thursday before super Sunday.

Pat and Bryan:

I have never seen the Burgh in such a Steelers Frenzy………it is an awesome sight to walk

through the Strip District and see 20 different shops and street vendors hawking everthing under the sun with

Steelers logos and black and gold. Most of it is genuine garbage knock offs that are really ugly but it doesn’t

matter……it is all about your team and your city. There were boom boxes playing Steelers songs on every corner

plus it is 50 degrees in Feb. One vendor was selling Steelers thongs yelling We got Steelers thongs, thong, thong, thong.

It was nuts……..but put a smile on my face.

It is a chance to finally get One for the Thumb after a 26 year wait. People are headed up to Detroit, it is only an easy 5 hour drive.

Some have tickets and many others do not. They just want to be there to be part of the scene………” Were jus gwoin up dere to porty”

How about the The Pittsburgh Steelers, as John Faccenda used to say…………

I am going out to buy Kyle’s fiancé a Steelers Jersey. She wanted a #7 but Kyle convinced her to get a #43 Troy Polamalu instead. He along with Heinz Ward are what makes this team great.

Let’s just hope that the December/ January team is up in Detroit. I’m sure that they are ready……….Joey Porter is.
