I have a customer who does 6-10 meetings a year with me. 4 of these happen in Las Vegas. He calls me yesterday and says, I am flying into Vegas last minute and I don't want to stay at the headquarter hotel, I want to fly under the radar. Can you help me with a room at the Hard Rock. I immediately said yes...If you don't, you are not confident in your ability to make something happen- and waffling in front of my customer in that moment is not an option for me.
Once committed to the yes, I leaned on our partners at the Hard-Rock for assistance. Without hesitation, they told me he was in great hands. I quickly called Joe, my client, and shared that he was good to go. This is the power of the HPN Global network and these are things that don't show up on the stat line, but are incredibly valuable to our customers. From day 1 my client understood the power of our network and we have been flying high ever since.
What this reminds me is that we HPN'ers should spend more time supporting those people that appreciate what we do and the power we bring vs. those who perceive us to be something else.
One of my favorite Bill Kilburg's lines. We are a third party created by guys who don't like third parties.
So freaking true!
I love being part of this global hospitality network.
