Life Span of a Mobile Event App

Every Annual Meeting should have a mobile event app. The app should have a 365 day a year life span. Apps today are appearing 30 days prior to a conference, of course accessible during the conference dates and then die about 30 days after the meeting. Why not have an app that lives and breathes 365 days a year. 90 days prior to the event it is used to drive registration, 30 days prior we transition to getting everyone excited about the show and the content. Over the actual event dates, the agenda and on site communication between attendees with polling, surveys etc is king. After the closing reception, the app starts to transition. The app now is a place where content from the show is shared so it lives on and people and where people unable to attend can access and get excited about joining next year. 30, 60 and 90 days after the conference we move towards the next show and the process continues.

If you are a smart phone user and attend a conference every year for your business. Is it far fetched that you would have this conference app on your phone and access it on going throughout the year to learn and share?
