why I like mobile apps over mobile websites today.

Some are building mobile websites not necessary apps- although they are calling them apps. These are really mobile websites with some type of simple frame around them. these are attractive to groups because they are cheap and easy to produce for all phones. The trouble is that people don’t use them as much as they do fully functioning native APPS. The value of real mobile event apps is that they really do have the ability to make you be more efficient and get more from your conference or meeting experience.

These mobile website apps are built by what I have heard others call an “app factory” they are intended to mass produce, but again the quality, functionality is minimal. When that happens, attendees are excited that they can download this event app, but then find it to lack panache and therefore don’t use it as much as they should. a client in turn will use it one time and then question why we are not building apps with more user functionality appeal so people get more from it.

That’s when quickmobile comes in.

Keep in mind that all of QuickMobile's apps are backed up with a mobile website solution so that if the app is built it for the iPhone and a percentage of your attendees use blackberry, those blackberry users would be able to access a mobile website version of the app using their phones browser and connection. This is in my mind not the experience we are looking for….

We want attendee to use the app, we want to find it incredibly resourceful and fun to use. We want them to use it feeling lucky to have access to it. If they use it the sponsors will come and come bigger and bigger each year as the mobile revolution continues.
