What are Twitter Lead Generation cards?

What are Lead Generation Cards?

Lead Generation Cards help advertisers highlight specific offers, products, or services more effectively, and capture user interest directly from within a Tweet.

How do Lead Generation Cards work?

When a user clicks to expand a Tweet with an embedded Lead Generation Card, they will see a product/offer image, header text, some details about the offer, and a call to action button.  At the bottom of the Card, users will see their name, @username, and email (as entered in Twitter settings). Users can then claim a discount, sign up for a newsletter, or request more details about a product or service with a single click.

Where do I access Lead Generation Cards?

Creating and managing Lead Generation Cards is simple and doesn’t require any on-site markup. Visit the new “Cards” tab under “Advertising” in the Twitter Ads UI to create and manage your Lead Generation Cards.

How do I set up Lead Generation Cards?

In the Twitter Ads UI, visit the “Cards” tab under “Advertising” and click on the “Create new card” button. Here you can provide an image, description and call to action copy for your card.  Once you have saved your card and deployed it to users within a Tweet, your leads will be collected within your Twitter Ads account. You can download your leads at any time by clicking the download button on a chosen card in your Twitter Ads account, as shown below.
In addition to downloading your leads from your Twitter Ads account, you also have the option to complete a one-time setup of a secure POST/GET endpoint that allows leads to be submitted directly to your company’s CRM or marketing automation system. For more details, see “Setting up Lead Generation Cards.”

Where will Lead Generation Cards appear?

Lead Generation Cards will display all places where Twitter Cards currently display: Twitter.com, iOS & Android clients.  In all unsupported clients, if a user clicks on a Lead Generation Card URL in a Tweet, they will be redirected to the fallback URL that the advertiser has specified when creating the Card.

What information is submitted by the user in a Lead Generation Card?

The user submits their name, @username, and email address. Users do not need to type this information in.  It is prefilled in the Lead Generation Card (using information from the user’s Twitter profile), with the email address partially obfuscated for privacy.
